[Reopening of business] Notice of resumption of normal business following restoration of mini cable car

Thank you for using the Sapporo Mount Moiwa Ropeway.

Due to a malfunction of the mini cable car's reducer that occurred on Sunday, July 20th, 2025, we have been operating ropeways and other services on a reduced schedule, and have been providing alternative transportation between the mid-mountain station and the summit station by microbus. However, we have now completed the restoration of the mini cable car and have confirmed that it can be operated safely, so we will resume normal operations throughout the facility from Friday, August 22nd, 2025.

We would like to once again offer our deepest apologies to our customers for the great concern and inconvenience caused.

In addition, we will resume sales of "Annual Passports" and "Advance Purchase Upbound Priority Boarding Advance Tickets," which had been discontinued due to the reopening of business, so we look forward to your patronage.

We will resume normal business hours from Friday, August 22, 2025 as follows:

Notice of cancellation of this year's "Dance High in the Sky! Mt. Moiwa Bon Odori," which was held for the first time last year

We were aiming to hold the "Dance High in the Sky! Mt. Moiwa Bon Odori" again this year, which was well received by many visitors when it was first held last year, and were proceeding with preparations for the event to be held on Saturday, September 6th. On the day, we refunded the fees to customers who used the ropeway, mini cable car, and tourist road during the time when the mechanical failure occurred.

Regarding the resumption of operations of the mini cable car as an alternative means of transportation

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued support.
Due to a malfunction of the mini cable car's reducer, the entire facility, including the ropeway and Mt. Moiwa Sightseeing Road, is currently closed until Sunday, July 27th, 2025. However, we have decided to extend the closure until Tuesday, July 29th. We would like to inform you that the entire facility, including the ropeway, Mt. Moiwa Sightseeing Road, and observation deck facilities, will resume operations from Wednesday, July 30th, as detailed below.

Regarding shortened business hours

During this time of year, the park is typically very crowded at night. In order to ensure safety by providing alternative means, for the time being, we will be open during the following hours.

*All events will end three hours earlier than usual.

The last time to descend from the summit is 18:45, so depending on the time of year, you may not be able to enjoy the night view. If you are planning to visit, please check the scheduled sunset and night view times on the top page before coming.

Alternative transportation between Mid-Slope Station and Summit Station

Transportation will be provided by microbuses as an alternative to the mini cable car.
The upward bound "Chufuku" bus departs from the first floor of Chufuku Station, while the downward bound "Chufuku" bus departs from the first floor of Chufuku Station.

The shuttle bus service from the "Ropeway Entrance" tram stop to the Ropeway Base Station will be temporarily suspended.

The Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium, located about a 15-minute drive from our facility, will be open in the evenings until September 30th.
From the observation deck, which can be reached by the same lift that ski jumpers actually use, you can enjoy the same view of Sapporo city that the athletes actually see.
Please also consider the night view of Okurayama.

About the collaboration project with SAPPORO STREAM HOTEL

Starting July 10, 2025, we will be launching a collaborative accommodation plan with SAPPORO STREAM HOTEL.

In conjunction with Nogizaka46's Hokkaido performance of their "Midsummer National Tour 2025," Nogizaka46 is collaborating with Sapporo City (Transportation Bureau/Domestic Tourism Promotion Executive Committee)!

A digital stamp rally will be held around the city's tourist attractions, subway stations, and concert venues.
Our facility will also be displaying collaborative posters with Kazu Inoue and setting up QR codes as spots for a digital stamp rally!

Participating in AzTabi in Hokkaido

From May 7th to June 30th, 2025, our facility will be participating in the "Azur Trip in Hokkaido" tour and tourism campaign event, set in Hokkaido, based on the app game "Azur Lane," which features beautiful anthropomorphized ships.

During the event, announcements inside the ropeway will be made using limited-edition collaboration announcements featuring voice actors, and collaboration goods will be on sale at the mountaintop shop.

It will also be the venue for a digital stamp rally, so be sure to visit the facilities and restaurants in Sapporo and get your hands on some limited edition giveaways!
