The charm of Mt. Moiwa
A great place to convey the importance of nature
You can enjoy a stroll along the easy-to-follow nature learning trails.
Moiwa Mountain is a place of relaxation and learning for the people of Sapporo

The nature of Mt. Moiwa, where a famous scholar grew up
During the Meiji era, Sapporo was developed and precious virgin forests were lost in various areas. As a result, the Moiwayama Primeval Forest was designated as Hokkaido's first natural monument on March 3, 1921 (Taisho 10). Since then, it has become a place of "rest" and "learning" for Sapporo citizens, as well as a place of familiar research where renowned botanical and entomological scholars have been nurtured.
Mt. Moiwa aims to promote nature-friendly tourism and coexistence with nature, and has established a nature learning trail to provide an ideal place for children to learn about the importance of nature through contact with nature. It can also be used for field trips, out-of-town learning, and school trips.
Nature Study Trail (Mid-Slope Station to Summit Station)

Between Moiwa Chufuku Station and Moiwa Sancho Station, there is a paved promenade about 600 meters long. It is easier to walk than the mountain trail, and there are rest areas set up so that women and children can feel safe and enjoy the walk while enjoying the scenery (about a 15-minute walk).
At night, it is not passable due to lack of lighting.
Mount Moiwa, beloved by Sapporo residents

When the weather is good, you can see all the way to the Tokachi mountain range and Mount Daisetsu.
The sense of accomplishment you get when you reach the summit is something that can't be replaced by anything else. The view from there is a privilege only given to those who make the climb on foot. Mountain climbing has a very positive effect on your physical and mental health, with fresh air, beautiful views, silence away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and the ability to overcome a lack of daily exercise. Mountain climbing can be enjoyed by people of all ages, and Mount Moiwa, where you can experience the great outdoors directly just 20 minutes from central Sapporo, is loved by many Sapporo residents.
